Hey all you KMSC Listeners out there! Today, we played Rebecca Black’s “Friday”, and wouldn’t you know it, at the same time the stream broke! We’re working on this issue, and we’ll have the stream back up as soon as possible.

Attention DJ’s! We had a couple of great new things happen at the KMSC Station over spring break!

First, we put in a brand new recording booth in the production room, complete with new microphones! This will allow us to have high quality recording for whatever we want to do – if it’s new bumps, liners, or my personal favorite… Radio Theatre! (Anyone interested should contact Jason, the Station Manager, about being in a Radio Theatre production!)

Second, we have a new dropbox for reviewing music on the office door. This is a calling out to all you DJ’s – we really need your help reviewing music, and while it’s been difficult getting music handed back in the past, now it’s as simple as dropping it off! You can see any heads of staff to check out music, and we’d love to hear your thoughts on the great new music we get here at KMSC.

Lastly, we’re working on getting audio/video streaming up and running. This is still a work in progress, but we’ve currently got streams running to Livestream and UStream. We’re working on a Justin.tv stream as well! Anyone with questions should see a head of staff or Andy for more details.

The heads of staff hope everyone is enjoying the last few days of your vacation, and we’re looking forward to everyone being able to use the exciting new additions to KMSC!

New Heads of Staff!

Good news, everyone!

We have two new Heads of Staff who are already working very hard to keep KMSC as strong as ever. Jason Uphoff is our new Station Manager, and Dustin Johnson is our new Program Director. Jason is very experienced in the world of mass communications and will put his expansive knowledge into improving the station, while Dustin has great experience with recording, editing, and streaming which we can utilize for GREAT ways to broadcast, such as online streaming, video streaming, and podcasting. Jason, Dustin, Elise and I (Ross) will all post finalized office hours (and a wealth of them!) in the studio so anyone can contact us very shortly.

Just a reminder, if you need help with the equipment in the studio or setting things up, talk to Dustin or Ross. If you are looking to apply, talk to Dustin. Any promotional needs or ideas go to Ross. Music needs? Talk to Elise.  Any questions about anything else? Feel free to talk to any of us! We’re always here to make your radio experience here at KMSC as awesome as humanly possible.

On a final note, we are currently updating the Top 30 (Thank you for being patient, all) and will be having a Heads of Staff meeting on Tuesday, March 1st. Anyone can feel free to join in on this meeting if you have ideas, questions or concerns. More on this soon!
