KMSC Interviews The MSUM Anime Club

KMSC is proud to be interviewing another organization that strives in spreading awareness of a culture not as familiar to many.

The MSUM Anime Club strives to spread not only awareness about Japanese entertainment through animation, but to also showcase the love of geek and nerd culture to many. Thus, creating a club/organization that helps bring many people together who have similar interest whether it’s anime or just nerd culture in general. Besides watching anime, The MSUM Anime Club has also done events such as a field trip to Anime conventions like Anime Detour and organizing their own conventions such as Moarcon.

KMSC is proud to be interviewing such a magnificent group that strives in showing how amazing Nerd culture can really be!

KMSC Interviews Anja Kotar

KMSC is fortunate enough to be interviewing the one and only, Anja Kotar!

20 Year Old Singer Songwriter and also Classically trained pianist, originally from Slovenia, has reached a successful Kickstarter goal of $20,000 for her debut album, Nomad. Showcasing her talent and also passion in music from her vocal performance to even her looks. Anja Kotar has also performed at the Slovenia Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 with her track, “To Cool”. With the praise as well as the passion, there is a reason why she’s cool.

There will also be a giveaway where two lucky winners will be able to get some free merch as well as a copy of her album, “Nomad” on CD. All you have to do is email us at kmscdragonradio@gmail.com and tell us your favorite track off of, “Nomad” as well as why you love the track. The give away begins on the 22nd of January and ends February 2nd at 11:59 pm ct. The winners will also be announced after the interview as well! Good Luck!

The Flipside Interviews New Direction Fest

For the upcoming New Direction Fest, KMSC’s one and only, “The Flipside” will be interviewing some of the bands performing at the new direction fest, as well as people who are involved. Come check them out on Mondays at 6:30p ct on KMSC Dragon Radio.

KMSC Interviews the Kawa Tatsu Yosakoi Dance Group

The purpose of the Kawa Tatsu Yosakoi Dance organization is to learn and choreograph our own Yosakoi routines, or, with the permission of other groups, learn their routines. We shall then share what we have learned with others through dance performances on campus, at cultural events, or through workshops at conventions and cultural events. (From Dragon Central).

KMSC Interviews Mega Ran

Mega Ran, former Nerdcore Rapper, will be interviewed by our KMSC Music Director Cha Vang (Film Production Major). the interview will be on Thursday, February 1st at 4pm ct.

Once a former Middle School Teacher, Mega Ran blends education, hip hop and gaming in many new ways. He’s competed in the Scribble Jam emcee battle championships and is the only rapper to be licensed by Capcom (Mega Man, Street Fighter, Resident Evil). His music has also been featured on ESPN, 20/20, Portlandia and WWE. He is also the first rapper to perform at ComicCon and toured with people like Common, Homeboy Sandman, MC Lars and more!
Mega Ran displays a passion for not only music and education, but nerd culture through his music, becoming one of the major pioneers in the Nerdcore genre today.
He will be performing in Minneapolis on February 9th at the Icehouse and KMSC is happy to be interviewing such a wonderful emcee!
