Graduating Senior: Nick Germain

Help us congratulate Nick Germain, a Spring 2020 graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead!

Nick is a DJ at KMSC. He interviews local musicians on his show Flannel Fest. Nick is graduating this spring with his degree in Entertainment Industries & Technology with an emphasis in Audio Technology. Nick says: “KMSC has given me a whole new career path that I would have never had without being a part of it. I was originally planning on trying to work in a studio, or a live setting, as an audio engineer. Those two options did not sound like anything that would make me happy in the long run. Then KMSC gave me an avenue to interview bands, and I found another passion that I did not know I had. I am forever grateful to KMSC for changing my life’s direction in such a positive way!” We’re glad we could impact Nick in this way! After graduating, Nick plans to start his voice-over coaching to pursue his dream of becoming a voice actor for commercials, animation, and video games. He will also start his radio show at KRFF in Fargo as soon as it is safe! Congratulations Nick, and good luck on your endeavors!

On Monday (2/24) News Director Alicia Nelson sits down with Morgan Hochsprung in the studio to chat about MSUM’s Signature Event, “Speak up”. Morgan is the Head of Marketing for the Speak Up planning committee and the President of Communicators in Action.

Interviews this Weekend

This Saturday (2/15), from 4:00-5:30pm, Nick Germain will be interviewing Matt Becker from Wicked Good Time. Matt is en event planner and musician in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

On Sunday (2/16), from 4:00-5:30pm, Nick will be interviewing local death metal band, Maul. Tune in to hear all about Maul’s music, upcoming gigs and more.

Hey all, we have a ton of interviews coming up for and during New Direction Fest 8 here in Fargo! Not all of them are nailed down yet but here’s some of the bands we are interviewing:

Local Punk Rock outfit Pass the Flask– March 19 @ 11am

Contest Winner and Folk artist Straight Line Arrival – March 29 @ 1pm

Local Hardcore band Baltic to Boardwalk – March 25 @ 7pm

Summer Break

KMSC is on summer break but the school year is just around the corner. We are on limited office hours for the next month but we will be replying to emails and phone calls the best we can. Please contact us via email at kmscdragonradio@gmail.com .

For charting and music reviews we are without a Music Director for the next month or so. We will be back to charting at the end of August.

If you are looking to apply for the fall semester as a DJ or a Head of Staff please let us know via email.
