Our DJ’s

Name: Carly DeSanto

Hometown: Hardwick, NJ

Major: Anthropology (emphasis in Archaeology)

Favorite Artist/Band: Youth Lagoon

Goals/Dreams:

To spearhead the “Friendship Children” movement, in which we make it socially acceptable to adopt children with your friends, and raise them in such an environment.
Why should people listen to your show?
I’m constantly listening to new music, whether it be literally new, or maybe something that came out a few years ago that was underappreciated at the time. It’s really cool to put out music that people may not normally be exposed to, especially when it comes to regional boundaries. Indie bands based out of NYC have a following where I’m from, so it’s really cool to play them for people here, who may not have been exposed to them.
What type of music do you typically play?

I play all sorts of indie music, whether it be indie rock/pop/alternative. I also have an affinity for the subgenres of lo-fi and dream pop, so there’s a pretty wide variety. Also, I don’t care how low-key a band is; good music is good music. Some of the bands I play on my station have less than a thousand listens on Spotify per month.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
As long as it’s a road trip, I don’t care where. The journey should always be more interesting than the destination, and I feel like with road trips, that generally holds true. I’ve always wanted to just like wake up on day and one of my friends be at my door like, “Let’s go, we’re going to (wherever). Pack what you need, we’ll get the rest along the way,”. That would just be so cool.
